If it is for me, I have to differentiate between:
A. Again, but with the gained knowledge
B. Again, from zero to hero without the actual, gained knowledge
If it's A., I would do more and take less weeks 'off'. I would specialize earlier and make me some name in that field.
If it's B., That's difficult. That can't be answered without taking A. into account. If I would go again from zero, I think, it would be the absolutely the same. I would not be knowing, what can be done differently.. if I would, though, it would be the very same answer as for A..
About the teenager. One has to find a Connection, a uplink, to that person. If it's established, it's easy. You have to "to live what you're wanting to teach". For example, if it would be a printing method for packaging. When you buy at the groceries, choose the appropriate packaging and tell why and how to recognize. This needs to be done consistently. You have to bring that topic into the real life.
Grownups learn differently. They're able to see the use case and understand why they learn and see how this is helpful for personal goals of theirs. Youngs don't. They can't link the real world to that they do learn.
So, a good teacher tell them "learn it now. Understand later" and teach them the use of the topic with real world examples, finds examples in real world that connect with the topic, and in general, the teacher must love what he do and give that fire® to the learner
