There's a good technical breakdown of what this was and how it worked on yt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBK1sq1BQ2Q

Since I'm not finding context, I think this is the gist:
OoT modders programmed custom stuff into the game by using arbitrary code execution exploits, to create content that is generally considered to be "rumored" in the game, but also obviously modern stuff like BoTW demake cutscenes and Twitch messages.
EDIT: actually, I think the demonstration starts by showing off legit "hidden feature" stuff existing in the original OoT game (enabling a debug mode), but quickly gets creative.
This is _not_ a speedrun of an actual beta version of OoT (it's far more interesting).
For more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBK1sq1BQ2Q

That might be the most ads I've ever seen on one webpage. I think there might have been an article too, but it was hard to tell.

This speedrun is the most compelling argument against (safe) Rust I've seen.

A childhood dream coming true 20 years later. The gamer community never ceases to amaze me.

This is my favourite run from GDQ. It its truly impressive what they are able to do with a TAS connected to original hardware.

This was super cool, it reminded me of the demoscene and demos. Programming something purely for the fun of its performance.

How would you recommend playing this game today to someone that has never played it ?

The title led me to believe that "Games Done Quick" was a group of people rewriting old games using modern game engines but original assets. If you're wondering the same thing: no, it's about speedruns.

Upon reading the submission title, first I tried to notice if I do smell toast right now because I know all of the words there yet it makes no sense taken together.
Reading the article helped unpack this particularly egregious title, yet it let me baffled because surely websites aren't limited by column inches like the papers of yore. While no doubt those past constraints have birthed wonderful examples of brevity like "Foot Heads Arms Body" and the like, these days I see no purpose in giving one's readers a mild sense of aphasia for no reason.
