You can do some serious streaming with 900Mbps, but it's not the only thing that matters.
For starters, you need to be sure your ISP has the capacity to deliver this amount of bandwidth to your home. If you have a cable provider, they might not be able to give you that much speed—but if they can, then by all means go for it!
The next thing to consider is how many devices are in your home at any one time. If there are two or three computers and a smart TV all accessing Netflix at once, it might slow down your connection and make things less than enjoyable.
You'll also want to check that your router is up for the task: if your router isn't powerful enough, you won't get much out of those high speeds anyway—and if it's too powerful for what you need, then… well… it's kind of wasted money.

4K video. Hi-res stuff from NASA’s website. Torrenting every episode and season of your favorite shows. Become your own CDN and share the bandwidth to serve ISOs of popular software like Linux distros?

If your ISP is ok with running servers, then point a cheap CDN to it to avoid paying for VM's or dedicated server rental.
