Thinking about pursuing medication for some mental issues. I'd like to hear anyone's stories of their medication's effects on coding or other applied tech skills. No specific questions; just looking for things to think about.
The first couple of SSRI / SNRIs I was on made me pretty fuzzy. I'd get half way through something and forget what I was trying to do or the end would not match the beginning.<p>I'm not a full on Dev, but I script things and troubleshoot other peoples code some of the time and I really couldn't manage much on the first few medications I tried.<p>The annoying thing about those medicines is you really cannot tell whether a particular one will work for you, the only option is to take it, wait, up the dose, and if it works without side effects great and if not, gradually come back off. So it takes 3-6months to determine that medicine X is not appropriate and move on to spend the same time on medicine Y.<p>That said, many people get lucky and start on one that is fine for them.
