This reminds me of living in the suburbs with every wifi device using the same SSID from the manufacturer and me hosting a bunch of stuff at home (MythTV, web servers, etc) and dns pointing to internal ips — these days, I just host it all publicly with authentication). Friends had trouble staying on my WiFi because they would connect to someone else’s wifi nearby. So I wrote a phone app that connected to people’s routers, logged in with factory defaults and changed the wifi SSID to something from a random word list. Then I just went for a walk around the block…
