GitHub is removing the trending section

Super annoying as I use this for my job (devrel). Maybe we can complain loudly enough about it? You know they are tracking the data, so I wonder what the big gain is in retiring the public view.

Low usage? I use this pretty frequently and i thought others would too.<p>Google &quot;GitHub Trending {insert programming language}&quot;<p>It&#x27;s, according to me, the best way to discover new and interesting projects.

This feels strange. I always go to this page by default almost every day. I&#x27;m curious what the rest of the community thinks.

github trending, and the social media aspects of github in general, are the major differentiator between github and all other git providers.<p>at present, github is the only social media worth using. dropping trending will damage github. perhaps something better will emerge to fill the void.
