I'd call the photo request a reasonable precaution in the context of hiring fraud.<p><a href="https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32996457" rel="nofollow">https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32996457</a><p>That would be incompatible with a blind audition but those are rare.

Depends which country you are in. Regrettably, in Germany this is standard practice.
