The failure to invest in nuclear is a collective one by Europe, with the obvious exception of France. Unfortunately, it takes 10 years to build a nuclear reactor, and that's if you have the human capital to do it. Europe simply train the engineering expertise in time to save the heavy industries which are left. An impoverished, de-industrialised Europe, swinging hard to the nativist right - it is not looking good brev, not looking good

Why do armchair economists view BRICS+ as a bloc? They don't appear to be. They don't even appear to trust each other enough to maximize trade between them. All of them, except Russia, want US and EU to succeed because independently, trade between them is very small as a percentage of total global trade.

This appears to be mostly using climate change denial to make it seem as if the right-wing economic disaster that the Spectator has brought to the UK is actually not their fault at all, but those pesky renewables, and so will affect all of Europe.
Given their long and consistent track record of being utterly wrong about renewables, I'm not sure how much faith I have in their renewables-adjacent predictions.
