Still don't understand how a guy as accomplished as Thiel doesn't see that the people he's backing have policies designed to hurt people like him. He's gay and a foreigner. "America-First" and "Christian Nationalist" policies don't really help him. He might like the economic policies, but at the end of the day, people he helped put in power will come for him, too.<p>Another thing is that I believe that if you've got multiple Foreign-Investor citizenships (Thiel has in both Malta and New Zealand), you shouldn't be allowed to lobby in the US, much less bankroll entire political campaigns. The conflict of interest is just too blatant.<p>You know what would be even better? If we just taxed this guy out of existence.
