I don't think the stereotype of people loving their dogs like children equates to "must hate homeless people" and then jump to "it's their parents' fault for not loving them enough (the kids, not the dogs)".<p>How did they measure this "strength" or "intensity" of relationship? Is there a meterstick or scale for this purpose? Oh they conducted surveys! That's definitive data. Maybe having 40 cats with individual "names" and "personalities" suggest unhealthy obsession, but perhaps it's a coping mechanism. I don't see any evidence someone with an anxious-avoidant attachment style would be any more into pets than humans.
