Jeff Bezos to give most of his money to charity

Rather than give his factory workers and delivery drivers a better, living wage and working conditions, he'd rather rehabilitate his public image after spending a ton of money going to the moon like a gilded age robber baron.

Why doesn’t he instead invest it in treating his workers better so they don’t need charity?<p>He could easily do more good by embodying positive principles into his company. Care about climate change? Invent reusable shipping packages so you stop sending people trash every day. Switch your fleets to carbon zero fuels. Make your suppliers do the same. If you do they you force your competitors to catch up too. With Amazon leading he has a real chance to change the world in a way that will outlast him.<p>Milking the capital out at great cost to humans and the environment and then dumping it back over the top is a child’s attempt to do right.<p>Or worse yet merely the attempt to seem to be doing right.

Which charities i wonder?

Too early for me to do a moral 180 on the man, but I‘ll try to keep an open mind

With the recent antics of Elon Musk &amp; this announcement, it makes me reconsider my opinion of Jeff Bezos. I hope this isn&#x27;t some PR &amp; accounting trickery in the end.

This is the same stunt Gates, Buffet, and the Wal-Mart heirs pulled to dodge taxes. We will end up needing to amend tax law to extract what they owe.
