I believe enforcing social harmony leads to stagnation and toxic communities. A strict set of rules to set the boundaries of discussion doesn't mean that there is less conflict at all. It is better to allow conflict to happen than letting strain accumulate and make it inevitable with a larger magnitude.<p>I doubt men and women can be differentiated along those lines for that matter.<p>Censorship and loss of privacy are equally severe problems. Both stem from central authorities, which the internet refreshingly has little of by design. Wanting to change is implicitly demanded to be changed. There are many political interests that do want to change this but that is certainly not along any gender lines.<p>Both censorship and privacy aren't opposites. If privacy is guaranteed, censorship becomes impossible.
