The number of people wrapping and reselling a new technology without adding any value of their own is depressingly high. To me it's a symptom of an unhealthy culture, in which profit is prioritized over honesty or integrity. I would be ashamed to make money this way, and the rationalizations people offer for doing so seem tissue-thin.<p>Other people labor diligently and share the product of their efforts freely, and are rewarded with little or nothing. Over time, this inevitably increases the economic leverage of the dishonest types, since they're accumulating resources. We should probably be looking for ways to create negative feedback loops to offset adversarial exploitation of preferential attachment.
