Writing for lower levels is not just simple and terse. Hemingway is famous for his objective and terse prose style, but a person who has low reading level will miss most of it.<p>US adult population PIAAC reading levels:<p>4% are nonliterate.<p>14% have below-basic literacy levels.<p>34% have basic literacy levels (8th-grade level)<p>36% have intermediate literacy levels.<p>12% have proficient literacy levels.<p>2% have high literacy levels.<p>GPT can mimic different types of writing, but it never writes very well.
It has knows grammar, but structuring above simple sentences is random or bad. It's either simple and clumsy, or pretentious.
