A mandatory item every member of Congress on this panel needs to divulge is how much money they received from Facebook or Google (or employees thereof). If TikTok wasn't eating Facebook's lunch in terms of attracting advertising revenue, or cutting into Google's search dominance (and AdSense as a result), nobody would care about TikTok or their tracking. EVERY app tracks users in as many ways as possible but those aren't a national security concern because they don't threaten Facebook or Google (or the politicians supported by the companies and their employees by extension).
