Apple sales drop 5% in largest quarterly revenue decline since 2016

I don&#x27;t think it is a price issue, like other commenters. I think the price is in line with previous editions, just adjusted for inflation.<p>The real reason is that newer versions of iPhone have been utterly meh. Absolutely no new innovations. The screen looks dated. The design is tired. The camera tech has plateaued. Storage sizes have plateaued. Battery life has plateaued. CPU improvements have lost any meaning for the average user, given apples inability to write software that takes advantage of the gains.<p>So why should I drop $1000 for no meaningful improvement or added use case? If I&#x27;m gonna spend that much money I&#x27;d rather try the folding phone from Samsung. It&#x27;s got something new.

$1500 phones might be an issue.

With the factory that builds iPhone Pros out of production for several weeks due to covid infections and protests about factory policies around covid, Apple was not able to deliver their most profitable product during the highest volume quarter of the year. It’s no wonder their revenue was down.

Note that this quarter spanned 14 weeks, while last year had 13. This was actually 7% or so worse than at first glance.
