Wall Street Owns the Country

So yeah, we have had a plutocracy for quite some time now.<p>Wasn’t the country essentially founded by wealthy landowners who wanted to keep voting rights for their class? It seems to me that this was by design.

For any piece of property there is going to be a person who owns it, as well as bank account which holds the corresponding amount of money.<p>Thus, any attempt at limiting monetary supply (via gold standard) or personal wealth (via demagoguery) seem innately fruitless to me.
