Apple continues laying off contractors, impacting ‘hundreds’ of people

&gt; they are forced to work more than a mile away from Apple’s “spaceship” headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. at a facility which, in addition to relatively ho-hum architecture, lacks free snacks.<p>From my experience the majority of full time employees also don&#x27;t work at Apple Park and don&#x27;t enjoy free snacks, so this complaint made me laugh.

I&#x27;ve done so many coding challenges for positions that were frozen or killed. It is very predictable at this point.<p>The reason I don&#x27;t consider them rejection excuses is because the third party recruiter had other candidates in the pipeline and insight into additional people being interviewed for the role, and they all are not in the process.

Are these contractors actually working on Apple products or are they AI&#x2F;data monitoring type contractors?<p>The whole point of using contractors is to be able to scale up and down quickly without too much fuss. Not saying its good, but its not necessarily major news.
