If I had a choice I’d stay in a hotel. I can always get a good rate on a hotel on Priceline or hotels.com and frequently find some place that is cool in one way or another. One time my wife and I went to a family party in the suburbs around WDC and we stayed at a trashy hotel that was redeemed because it was in walking distance of the outermost metro station so we could go in and enjoy the national mall and DuPont circle. Sometimes I like the posher hotels run by the Marriott group. My best AirBNB experience was in Chinatown NYC, finding the place was a cross between a James Bond movie and <i>The Blade Runner</i> but it would have no fun if anything went wrong…. Then there’s the time I spent a week in Montreal for work and ended up at the ultimate party house…
