Guess the Game

Really frustrating experience for one of the past ones, my first guess was "Borderlands" and it got a red cross. The correct answer was "Borderlands 2" - it should give an orange answer if you get the wrong game from a series

I really like the concept of this!<p>The search seems like it could be improved though. I wanted my first guess to be Super Mario Bros. but it kept prompted me for Super Mario World II. And then even with &quot;Super Mario Bros&quot; typed in it recommended New Super Mario Bros. 2, followed by a list of games that were clearly poor matches. Like Puzzle &amp; Dragons Z...

I have a memory of a DOS platformer game from when I was younger where the most reliably-correct part is the music. I&#x27;ve searched high and low for what it could be based on what I remember it _looking_ like to no avail. One of these days I&#x27;m going to sit down and sequence the tune in question from memory to see if anybody else online recognizes it... where should I post it once I&#x27;m done for the greatest chances of somebody recognizing it? This has been haunting me for at least two decades and I&#x27;d love to put a close to it.

Really fun concept. I&#x27;d suggest changing the color of the &quot;Submit&quot; button because (at least on Firefox) to my eyes it looks like it&#x27;s disabled.<p>It took me 4 tries to get today&#x27;s game. I remember playing it a lot as a kid on a clone of NES that was really popular in Eastern Europe at the time :)<p>Aside: why are .game domains sooo expensive? I&#x27;d love to get one for a game I&#x27;m working on but I can&#x27;t stomach paying £300&#x2F;year to register the domain :&#x2F;

This gets me thinking of a fun &quot;PvP&quot; version of this, where people make screenshots that have to (say) get something like a 10% correct rate or the like. The ultimate screenshot that gives away _just enough_ to where people who have the tiles burned in their mind will identify the game, but that isn&#x27;t actually impossible.

The only one I was able to guess so far was &quot;The Secret of Monkey Island&quot; (although I only know it as &quot;Monkey Island I&quot;) - but that one I guessed from the first screenshot! Shows my age I guess...<p>EDIT: Ok, in the meantime I also guessed Portal 2, GTA 3, Bioshock Infinite, and a few others. Now I&#x27;m hooked too :(

3 guesses and I never even owned the game or the system it was on. Some things are just cultural icons. Or sub-cultural icons I suppose.

The &quot;Skip&quot; button should be on a different location. Clicked it accidentialy because I wanted to change the pictures.

Good fun! I created a subreddit called r&#x2F;guessthegame a long time ago, but it never went anywhere.

This would be really nice if we had a list of 20 options instead of guessing wildly.
