Hi, i am in San Francisco for the week from NYC and trying to meet some people in IRL. I was suggested using meetup.com and Saturday apps but hardly see anything of interest(start ups/tech) there in person. The activity seems much lower than in NYC, where we have multiple such events every week on a regular basis. Are there any other places to find like minded people to meet in person or Bay Area is still to get back to normal IRL stuff?
You can find all AI related events in SF here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P6ut7vL-gXKbeDeh3nuP...
For me twitter is a great place to learn about new events, there are also bunch of private communities like OnDeck, AGI House Slack and AI Builders Whatsapp group through which I learn about events. If you are plugged in, there are more events than you can be present for.
It’s slowed down for sure since COVID.
Having said that, RSA is happening in SF and is heavily attended right now.
There was also a huge meet up around Generative AI a couple of months back: https://sfstandard.com/technology/techies-swarm-san-francisc....
Try searching for a specific topic of interest and I am sure you’ll find some good meetups around that topic in or around the bay.
DNA Lounge has a bunch of events. Mostly night club stuff, but tonight (Wednesday) there’s a game development meetup featuring Magic Leap: https://www.dnalounge.com/calendar/2023/04-26a.html
