An Update on Evernote Pricing and Upcoming Improvements

The new sync is needed. Evernote is one of those rare programs in which the desktop apps work better than the mobile apps. Both on Windows and macOS the sync works very fast but on my iPhone I can literally wait 5 minutes and it does not sync a new note. And then I pull down on the notes screens to force a manual refresh and then something happens. Sometimes I make a quick note on my iphone before going to bed and the next morning it is still not synced to my desktop devices. As if Evernote on iOS goes to sleep the moment the phone goes to the lock screen.<p>But through all these years I still stay with Evernote. I&#x27;ve tried many other programs and Evernote still wins for fast notetaking, saving html pages, or saving screenshots, and do this on all devices (Apple&#x2F;Android&#x2F;Windows).<p>Apple Notes would come real close if they had a Windows apps. If Apple could spend some time improving the icloud website then maybe that could be a web alternative for a native app on Windows.

I&#x27;m surprised they&#x27;re still around, tbh.<p>I was an early user, but then I ditched them for the plain old mac&#x2F;iphone notes app when I was asked to pay to keep syncing multiple devices. I wasn&#x27;t a power user, so notes worked just fine.<p>When I wanted more of a knowlege base app, I went with Notion as it was less free for my uses &amp; less painful, and then I found ObsidianMD, and migrated from Notion. I just use iCloud Sync between devices.<p>Notion now has their built in LLM&#x2F;AI thingy to help out.<p>It&#x27;s a crowded scene now, with competition from the bottom, with Google Keep or Apple Notes&#x2F;Reminders, and from the top, with Notion. They don&#x27;t even mention the price on their compare plans page, it&#x27;s in a blog post. Because evernote personal is $15&#x2F;mo vs $8&#x2F;mo for Notion, with another $8&#x2F;mo for Notion AI addon. Apple Notes, Google Keep, Obsidian are all free.<p>Am happy for them, and for the competition, but they don&#x27;t seem to have a unique selling point? I&#x27;m curious how they are trying to win new customers.

At this point, with so many features they are competing with the likes of Google Docs&#x2F;Drive? tried them a while ago, they were a bit too bloated and expensive for my taste, but they seem to have doubled down on bloat and price?
