Invalid amp link. Correct URL is https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2023/06/ceo-raspberry-pi-inv...
Going from shipping 800k in Q1 to 1M per month sounds like a significant upgrade in their supply chain. Hopefully it should bring down the prices and improve availability. But, I believe many enthusiasts who were interested in the raspberry pi have moved to alternatives like lepotato and other pi variants due to unavailability and high prices even from authorized resellers.
If your primary use case for a pi is running a low powered server and can't wait, I think an NUC style minipc is a good alternative at marginally higher price(when you consider the cost of pi & its accessories required for comparable setup). For a slight increase in power consumption, you get a capable x86 cpu with more supported software and you can also upgrade later. I have one sitting at 10W idle.
If you requirements are strictly low power then a pi might be the better choice if you can wait.
