So, I attempted to boost (ie. advertise) a Facebook post about a new afternoon class at my son's preschool that had the following text:
"Butler Montessori School is offering a new afternoon class for Pre-K and Kindergarten that starts this fall!
This class will be Monday through Friday, from 1:00 to 3:30.
Spots are still open to have your child join our community of enthusiastic learners and explorers this fall!
Learn more at https://butlermontessori.com/new-afternoon-class."
That ad was rejected by Facebook for the following:
"Ads that promote online gambling and gaming, where anything of monetary value is required to play and anything of monetary value forms part of the prize, are only permitted by advertisers that have our prior written permission. These must also adhere to the online gambling and gaming targeting requirements."
I have no idea how the reviewer came to think that my ad was for anything related to gambling or prizes. I have requested an additional review. But I have no idea if that will change anything.
I've seen numerous instances of companies like Facebook and Google not addressing bogus results unless the community puts a large enough spotlight on it. I guess I'm asking for some help here.
The post in question can be seen at https://www.facebook.com/ButlerMontessoriSchool. It's the newest post.
Edit: They did approve the ad in follow-up. I still hate the faceless nature of these things and the absoluteness of their decisions with no recourse than to plea for another look.
