HNers! we were building an internal tool for control operations with respect to our SaaS which had use cases like: a. change a users plan from plan A to plan B b. provide a trial plan to the user for a few days c. give credits or stripe discounts , etc while building the internal tool - we had a suggestion from customer success if we could make it into a slack command. This was truly an amazing request as it would take away the load of customer success/ support rep to load a new portal and fullfill request. So we decided to give it a go. Some of the options we considered to fulfill this request was Zapier but we had to scrap it off as our internal systems aren’t really available on internet and this had to be locally hosted. Just around the same time our very own product (DronaHQ) was launching automations on our self hosted product. We immediately took the opportunity to use it and give it a go. And in no time we launched our 1st slack command to help our teams get useful info from our backend systems in a meaningful manner. Some of the things we were able to achieve: a. Restrict usage of slack commands to just the right internal users (access control) b. add passwords to some imp requests c. create maker/checker controls we think this can be really helpful to a lot of internal teams and your feedback on this can be useful for us.

Hey Hacker News folks! I wanted to share an amazing productivity hack I've discovered: Slack slash commands. If you're all about working smarter, this is for you. Slack slash commands let you automate tasks, fetch data, set reminders all right from your chat input. It's a time-saver, whether you're a developer, project manager, or just want to streamline your workflows. But here's the real gem: DronaHQ for Slack commands. We've made building slash commands a breeze. No coding skills needed. Just a simple, user-friendly interface to create custom commands that fit your needs. I've personally experienced the transformative power of Slack slash commands integrated with DronaHQ, and I can confidently say it has changed how my team and I work. So, if you're ready to take your workflow to the next level, I highly recommend checking out Slack slash commands and giving DronaHQ a try. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences with Slack slash commands
