Given the current circumstances I think almost everybody with half a brain is going to predict more doom. Ray Dalio is well known enough that him saying it may be newsworthy but the general feeling around me is that things will get worse, possibly lots worse before they will get better again. That is an EU viewpoint and Dalio definitely doesn't live here so it may well be that this particular viewpoint is more widespread. His analysis could well be spot on, but regardless of the causes the 'commoners', myself included, will be lucky enough to just be able to hang on for the ride. Plenty of people will have their lives upended (or even ended) and before the world will reach a new and stable equilibrium (which may not happen for decades given the size of the challenges facing us, which are far, far larger than anything that came before while we were so fragile).
