I am administrating a product that offers Twitter as OAuth provider. Since earlier this morning, we are noticing significantly higher than usual # of request to authenticate with Twitter. The traffic is clearly originating through sophisticated botnet.
These requests would result into redirecting to Twitter's OAuth screen, effectively making significantly higher load on Twitter's OAuth system, so my primary assumption is that this is aimed at increasing the load on Twitter through other platforms as it appears to be only targeting Twitter OAuth, no other providers have been affected.
I am curious if anyone else is noticing similar pattern on their platforms?
