Interesting that&#x27;s even possible. As we all know pre-NT Windows could not be trusted to remain on for long periods of time. Pre-X Mac OS was not a very stable system either.<p>In fact Apple shipped Mac OS X &quot;server&quot; years before the &quot;client&quot; version because even as an unfinished product it was much more suited to work as server than anything else Apple had at the time.

When I started at Apple in 1995, the DTS website ran on a Mac SE under someone&#x27;s desk.

Heh. Way back when I used a POSIX-like socket library, called “GUSI”, that sat on top of either MacTCP or OpenTransport to write a server that ran inside a QuarkXPress XTension.<p>It was based on a Steven’s UNIX Networking example.<p>It ran in a co-operative thread, with an idle on the main thread yielding to it. It was used to batch process EPSF artwork into adverts (Yellow Pages).<p>I even gave it a PowerPlant UI. The UI ran in XPress too. It wasn’t too hard to plumb in.

I want to point out how much faster to load the `&#x2F;camneerg` site is to load than the `&#x2F;wordpress` site on his domain.<p>I&#x27;m not bashing wordpress here, but how fast older websites load even on a MacPlus!
