Ask HN: When will HN add ActivityPub?

I'd be very practical to be able to use it from within Lemmy or /kbin even if it'd be just read only. Posting comments from it would be even better.<p>The UI is almost identical already.

Probably never? But there are a number of Hacker News Mastodon bots that people have written, here's one: <a href="https://github.com/lumenwrites/mastodon-hnbot">https://github.com/lumenwrites/mastodon-hnbot</a><p>They could probably be adaptive for other ActivityPub formats pretty easily.

Once there is an NNTP<->AP bridge, this would be beneficial to NNTP users as well. I support this.

I'd expect a third party to implement it, and it become semi-official most likely. Like the algolia searchbox on the bottom of the page.<p>That gets me thinking, does hn have opengraph tags for link previews?
