I am curious to learn what folks think will be the implications of AI on porn? Given males are the majority consumers of porn, what the future hold for men's health? Are we going to get more addicted? or is it possible that AI can infact lead to novel ways to reduce harmful porn addiction?
Finally rule 34 will truly become true.
In the past I have been disappointed, as I found some topics that seemed to defeat this internet law, but now, with the help of AI, I am hopeful that the golden age is still ahead of us.
On a bit different note, there are already an infinite amount of free porn of all kind on the internet, and a similar amount of paid porn. Everyone can find their favorite type already, and it has been like that for decades. I don't think that AI will fundamentally change the impact of free flowing porn.
It kinda feels like asking how AI will impact TV and movies. We already live in a post-scarcity digital landscape, there has been a surplus of porn for just about as long as the internet has existed. The increased availability of porn probably won't addict people any more than they already were.
> or is it possible that AI can infact lead to novel ways to reduce harmful porn addiction?
This site asks the strangest questions sometimes.
AI is just AI. Sure it's "possible" that you could build an AI net-nanny for yourself, but that has been possible sans-AI since forever. The question is the same as it's even been, it's exclusively a matter of human willpower.
It's just another niche. It won't take over. Just another category / fetish. If anything, if it does take over, people will just crave the real stuff even more. Also porn can be addicting but it's a fairly natural part of human sexuality. Gotta love those free endorphins that make us feel good!
For me personally it is important that the actors are human. I haven't introspect much about it and what implications this gives. But I do wonder how I would react, if it isn't clearly distinguishable anymore.
