It's your blog.<p>My take about it is this. If <i>you</i> pick a topic you think is interesting you'll likely wind up picking one of those topics like programming or anime that monetizes poorly. (like 1/10 or less of average!) If you had a huge list of possible topics and threw a dart to pick one at it you'd get average results.<p>Either way you need a <i>lot</i> of traffic to make significant amounts of money: it's one thing to have people think less of you and be making $500 a month, it's another thing to have people think less of you and be making $5.
