Hi HN, Bracket CEO here.
Bracket lets you set up two-way and one-way syncs between Salesforce and Postgres. We’re essentially a hosting-agnostic alternative to Heroku Connect.
Salesforce is the most popular CRM on the planet, but it’s way, way easier to build apps and do analysis on Postgres tables. You can use Bracket to create Postgres tables from scratch based on existing Salesforce objects, choose which fields you’d like to sync and which direction, and schedule/manage those syncs.
Working with some early beta users, we’ve mostly seen these benefits:
1. Build apps and workflows on Postgres instead of Salesforce. For almost any developer, Postgres i more enjoyable to work with as a prod DB.
2. Limit dependencies on the Salesforce API. Instead of building a ton of apps that call the Salesforce API directly, using Bracket you could conceivably limit your API calls to just those between Salesforce and Postgres. Also, Bracket is managing any changes to the Salesforce API, so it's a low-maintenance dev experience. Finally, building apps on Postgres helps maintain continuity of service if Salesforce has an outage.
3. Perform SQL analyses instead of SOQL analyses.
4. Less important for devs, but for the business folks: it’s generally cheaper to have more seats in Postgres or a Postgres-adjacent data reporting tool than to have a ton of Salesforce seats.
We’re excited to announce version 1.0 of this integration, and it’s ready for use and feedback.
quick video demo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRkaAa667T0
keen to hear what other features would be useful, what other integrations would be helpful, and any questions you might have!
