Xitter Broke Nitter Again

Bummer, Zedeus just got Nitter fixed up like 2 weeks ago. Seems they keep turning off apis.

I finally removed processing of two Xitter-to-RSS (a once great function of nitter) feeds from my crontab, I know when I'm not welcomed.

It&#x27;s bad enough for your project to depend on a social media company, now imagine the company it&#x27;s also run by an unhinged man-boy billionaire that&#x27;s bored every 5min..<p>Alternative front-ends for big web sites are always a thankless job. At least everybody involved knows how these things end. ( I hope they know.. )

This has me thinking: given all of this, are public American officials therefore allowed to use Xitter? Presidential etc. speech is supposed to be archive-able, and placing it behind not only a sign-in, but also a $42069 (or whatever dumb figure Musk has dreamed up for API access) fee is problematic.

I&#x27;m starting to wonder if the real value prop of Twitter, subconsciously recognized and agreed by users, is that some suckers are paying out of pocket for it, as opposed to the community having tractions and such and such valuable aspects.

Took me a while to recognise that Xitter is a portmanteau of X and Twitter. How is it pronounced then? &quot;Sitter&quot;? &quot;S*itter&quot;?

Xitter is pronounced as outhouse, right?

Maybe time to end it? Twitter is no longer a well behaved service, and its only going to get worse.
