Anything where public policy is so in the dark should maybe just be banned. We can't really do studies & understand how various driverless cars work, how safe they are. We just take these companies at their word. We don't have the data, don't see the systems. There's no basis for fair or safe regulation here.<p>Cyclists especially are at huge risk here, are the in-between range where auto omous vehicles will not cope well & will do bad things. The people making the decisions about what to allow have no real ability to judge how bad the problem is. It's all black boxes, controlled IP, that owes nothing to the world & share none of itself.<p>With this corporate controlled world, it's impossible to vouch for the safety of these things.
