So, the question I would ask is why not just scan the card or make a photograph of it, and store that in your photo library? That should work for most types of cards, right?
Cryptographically exciting. Unfortunate that the code is all copyrighted, and nobody in Seattle or anywhere else would be able to test, use, or extend it.
