Why the Internet isn't fun anymore

Ad-supported, centralized platforms.<p>Aka money&#x2F;greed, control freaks &amp; their algorithms. <i>That</i> is what has turned present-day internet into crap.<p>(feel free to include AI ;-)<p>The nice corners are those where above factors don&#x27;t apply.

A lot of that fun internet just isn’t indexable from google.<p>Many private communities and discord servers have replaced communities that once existed on traditional social media platforms.<p>It’s not less fun in general, all the life was sucked out of big social media and new internet users saw that and decided to move to closed platforms like discord

&gt; S.E.O. hackers have ruined the trick of adding “Reddit” to searches to find human-generated answers.<p>Just add &quot;site:reddit.com&quot; to the end of your search query. Nothing SEOs (like me) can do about that, Google will only return results from reddit.com. I, personally, find it really funny when the top result is some spam coupon site with &quot;[search query] reddit&quot; as the page title. Google really should be smarter than that.
