Not entirely new. I worked for CompUSA back in the day and I know for a fact that the services team that did repairs on computers back then did 2 things the second a computer was functional, scan for MP3s and nudes, then copy those to a couple drives they kept in the shop to power their WinAmp and distribute to those that wanted copies.<p>I also know my college roommate ran the 1-hour photo at a walgreens and if there were personal photos be developed he made copies for himself.<p>At the end of the day any system you don't control that doesn't have verifiable E2E encryption puts your sensitive images at risk.
