I have my YouTube watch history turned off for years now, as the same account is used across my devices including Home TV.
I have seen prompts from YouTube time to Time recently to Turn back the History On. I ignore it and it was working fine.
But today, in my Chrome browser, there is no Home screen anymore. Just YouTube history is Off and Update Settings Link, that force us to turn the history On and no other way.
Google's commitment to privacy?
Note: I am a YouTube Premium subscriber but they still want to mine my data for Ads elsewhere.
Anyone facing the same?
HA! I have witnessed this myself a few hours ago when I opened a YT video in new private window (Firefox word for Chromium's Incognito) instead of new window by mistake; it threw a blocked message right in my face and I was like "wait...what? Yesterday was the ad blocker popup and today this?!" lol, seems like they are on their way to close it down if they continue like this, because it feels like a threat to its users to force them buy premium subscription.
