tldr; The hiring process in the tech industry is flawed and inefficient. Current assessments and coding interviews are biased and time-consuming, resulting in poor signal and a waste of resources. Many companies have tried to fix this problem, but have struggled due to high churn and competition. I propose a solution of open-source asynchronous debugging interviews and a platform for developers to practice and showcase their skills. To curb churn, the platform should bundle assessments with other sticky products. I'm considering building a product based on these ideas and welcome feedback.
