'We can't carry on': the godfather of microplastics on how to stop them

I really enjoyed the 4 minute YT&#x2F;ClimateTown video that points out that the following entities all support theories of human-induced climate change, and publicly state so within documentation&#x2F;websites:<p>All major gas extraction companies, all US insurance providers, most chemical societies, most academics.<p>That we as a species are not hugely impacting our planet&#x27;s inhabitability (for ourselves, minimum) is nothing more than political theater.<p>YT&#x2F;ClimateTown link: youtube.com&#x2F;watch?v=mK5TbGvvluk

Fucussing on microplastic in the ocean might be a bad idea. Most people don&#x27;t overly care about the ocean, but they care a lot about their own health. If there is evidence that inhaling or ingesting microplastics poses a serious health risk, governments would be a lot more motivated to ban synthetic textiles or synthetic car tires. So research on the effects of microplastics on human health would be potentially a lot more effective than getting the world to care about animals in the oceans.
