Hey everyone,
I've been exploring what's possible with AI face / voice cloning lately. The result is Fakenews.news, a prototype that lets you create custom breaking news on the fly.
Just add a script, a news title, photo, ticker, and 3 min later you get a realistic looking newscaster delivering your own custom news. You can download/share the video, to prank a friend, do some funny promo, etc.
It's combining a bunch of AI models for voice-cloning, lip-synching, text-to-voice, and deepfake, etc. This is how far I've been able to push the tech to create realistic clones.
It is a fun project for entertaining purposes only. I also recognize how this kind of tech can be misused (and no doubt it will be, so I want to be careful with it. It's both thrilling and scary.
Not too sure what I'll do with this yet. But I know for sure, we'll see more and more of this in the coming months / years, whether it's to create real news or parody ones.
Curious to hear what you think, tech-wise, business-wise, ethic-wise.
You can test it free: just use "hackernews" code at checkout. I'll leave it free for the next 24hrs. (I just want to limit how much it'll cost me in CPU, those videos are not cheap to render!!
