Not sure. This comment thread <a href="https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38362015">https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38362015</a> raises the possibility that MSFT + Sam could be sued for an illegal quid pro quo exchange where Sam got rewarded by MSFT (via an immediate no-questions-asked job offer when he needed it most and has not yet been cleared of wrongdoing) in exchange for Sam's previous action of making a perpetual IP licensing deal that many view as unfavorable to OpenAI & quite favorable to MSFT. This is similar to how "revolving door" corruption works in the military-industrial complex, and although it's common, it's also illegal.
