StellarPreviews uses the Google Docs third-party smart chips API [1] that allows you to turn a URL from a third-party application into a smart chip that can display additional link preview information.
This allows you to preview information from the URL without having to switch context and visit the third-party application. This is also useful where people in your organization who view a document may not have access to the third-party application. This allows them to get contextual information about the URL from inside Google Docs.
I created a short demo video [2] to understand better how this works.
Currently, StellarPreviews support GitHub URLs to GitHub pull requests and issues, as well as Linear issues. More integrations are on the way.
[1] https://support.google.com/docs/answer/13543219
