I almost went down your path, but did not have the guts that you had (and probably not the talent either tbh!), so bailed out and chose engineering instead, now music just a "hobby" and I get sad if I think about it too much. So try to take solace in that I guess?<p>Anyway, we've all been thinking about how disruptive AI will be for our respective disciplines (like ALL disciplines). Coders are using AI to be more productive (e.g. co-pilot), so it seems that musicians and artists need to find a way to build on top of AI too (kinda obvs)...but in your case, given your combination of grit (i.e. willingness to pivot) and presence on hackernews, maybe you can help musicians interface with AI as a service? Like getting chatGPT to write or improve song lyrics. I dunno, just trying to shine some light for you.
