I'm a happy TinyLetter user and would love to not add another monthly subscription cost, especially since the rest of my website stack is free. I fit in TinyLetter's < 5k subscribers free tier.<p>I checked out Buttondown and Mailchimp, both of which require paid plans long before 5k. I worry self-hosting would hit spam. Any good alternatives?
I run Buttondown, so it pains me to suggest a competitor (I kid, I kid) — but to my understanding, EmailOctopus has the best free tier around at the moment, at 2500 subscribers / 10K emails.
mailerlite.com has a free tier for 12,000 emails per month but limited to 1,000 subscribers.<p>If you don't mind writing a bit of javascript, you could use Cloudflare workers which allow sending emails via MailChannels API. Be sure to setup certificates so people cant spoof your domain.
