From my narrow view of the software world, companies are tightening their belts and often increasing their ambition. The people I know and work with have survived at least one round of demoralizing layoffs (or haven't survived). They are more overworked, more tired, and generally less happy. Leadership is getting less friendly.
On the upside, staff solidarity is increasing in small pockets as people bond over the state of things.
Is the same dynamic playing out everywhere?
Are you in bigtech or startup? Startup life feels pretty good right now. Rush to build a lot of AI stuff nobody is sure exactly how to build. It might have its silly aspects, but it's fun.
