My favorite types of posts on HN are not news articles, but rather essays and blog posts. Sometimes a whole book feels like too much of a commitment to one topic, but a good long post to dip your toes is perfect.<p>On any topic really. If you have any bookmarked, please share. This year someone introduced me to <a href="https://gwern.net/" rel="nofollow noreferrer">https://gwern.net/</a> and I have to say, it’s got a lot of essays etc on it about quite an enormous range of topics. If you haven’t already come across gwerns writings then this might be the type of thing you’re looking for. I have definitely not even come close to reading everything on there but occasionally when I am feeling bored and uninspired or just generally curious about something but can’t be bothered doing my research I have a look at what gwern has to say about it. He just writes well and seems to be a generally interesting person. I just wish, because of the huge amount of content on there, that gwern had a search bar.
