GPT is a game changer. My new mantra, and what I've been telling developer friends, is "Don't build one side project, build twelve." I realised that this is effectively what VCs do, where they'll often have a portfolio of companies, even if they only expect one of them to net a 100x return. It was also inspired by reading success stories on IndieHackers, where I noticed a common theme was someone saying "this is the 6th product I've released, and I finally landed on something that got big." I further think that GPT unlocks the capability to move at this speed, it helped me spec out features, then write the actual code for them. Previously I have only released React Native apps, as I was more familiar with React in my professional job. Being able to describe what I want, and then have the SwiftUI code be generated for me, was remarkable! I have a further selection of ideas which I'll be building, and would thoroughly recommend to other devs that they start leveraging these tools. I might consolidate these thoughts a bit further in a future blog post.
