Hello everyone,
I’m facing a challenging scenario in the SaaS logistics sector and would appreciate any insights or suggestions.
Our SaaS platform is increasingly required to integrate with a variety of customer systems. These systems range from custom APIs (often rudimentary) to the widely used EDI standard in logistics. Additionally, we need to synchronize with internal and external systems like SAP, Oracle, and other ERP solutions.
Another complexity arises from the diverse platforms used for freight reception or transport capacity procurement, including some proprietary solutions from shippers/carriers. Ideally, most of these connectors will be managed by our customers, but we’ll inevitably handle a significant portion.
Currently, Lobster, a Java-based on-premise solution, is prominent for API/EDI connectors in the German logistics market.
We’re keen on finding a cloud service that simplifies connector development and management, preferably with a no-code approach.
The ideal solution would allow us to integrate with a reputable provider, maintaining a central adapter to ensure continuity and avoid breaking integrations due to schema or format changes on our side. Without such a solution, we’re looking at the daunting task of implementing intricate API versioning and constantly nudging system admins for timely updates…
Has anyone ever had similar challenges? How did you handle them?
Appreciate any pointers or ideas
Cheers
