FTA: I’m turning 30 and I’ve produced no amazing art. Shit.
There are •millions• of people who feel this way.
I was one of them at age 42.
I was in retail for 25 years until the Great Recession, and though I could achieve $35 an hour in malls at Xmas (and later, RadioSnack), it was unfulfilling.
——> After the age of fifty, I leveraged my talent to create a public persona that created Comedy and Music, while showing people they actually have Superpowers (abilities they had no idea they possessed).
Doing this in front of theater lines, I managed to hit $50/hr. fairly consistently, albeit not full time…however it is extremely fulfilling and my art is appreciated.
Keeping The Faith - Billy Joel
——————
For those who wish to see what I created, take the last E off my username, add the postal abbreviation for Alaska and go to my YouTube uploads…and depending on YouTube for income is a treadmill. Blaze your own trail in the real world.

I think that's a Rite of Passage.
It'll be interesting to for you to look back at 40 and 50. I think you'll be saying almost the opposite, that most of those new ideas have been discarded, and that you've only kept a few.
Personal computing arrived when I was about 35, around 1980. For about the next 4-5 years I tried to keep to the 'cutting edge'. I had to give up on that when I finally recognised that I just wasn't capable of learning enough, fast enough, to be able to stay on that 'cutting edge'. The field was growing too fast. There was just too much to take in.
I picked a couple of areas, and concentrated on those, instead of spreading myself too thin on all of them.
